Premier Weatherill and Labor appear to have been caught out engaging in more sneaky campaign tactics.
The State Liberals have obtained three “Sorry I Missed You” doorknocking cards and a streetcorner meeting letter from Labor candidate for Reynell, Katrine Hildyard, in four different handwriting styles.
The doorknocking cards, signed “Kind Regards Katrine”, give the impression that Ms Hildyard doorknocked the respective houses.
But when comparing the three cards with three different handwriting styles, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
“Sadly this appears to be another example of sneaky and tricky campaigning from Labor that South Australians have become accustomed to,” said Liberal spokesman Rob Lucas.
“It might be possible that Ms Hildyard has four completely different styles of handwriting, but I seriously doubt it.
“Residents in the Reynell electorate would be rightly outraged to hear about this sneaky campaigning.
“It’s completely deceptive to give the impression that a candidate has doorknocked local residents, when that doesn’t appear to be the case here.
“Does Premier Weatherill endorse this kind of sneaky campaigning? How many other candidates are engaging in this type of sneaking campaigning? Will Mr Weatherill take immediate action to other Labor candidates to stop these dirty tricks?
“South Australians, and residents in Reynell, deserve better.”
