Premier Weatherill and Labor have continued to follow the State Liberals’ lead on policy initiatives.
At Labor’s campaign launch yesterday, Mr Weatherill announced a number of policies
“Labor will continue to lobby the Australian Government to restore meaningful concessions through the regional migration system which will help Adelaide attract skilled migrants.”
Last month, State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall announced that the State Liberals would work with the Federal Government to establish a new visa class for SA to give greater flexibility and support in attracting new workers.
“Labor will implement our next trade strategy for South East Asia, to be modeled on the China and India strategies. Our focus will be on Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and then Vietnam.”
Last year, State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall announced that the State Liberals were committed to consolidating and strengthening South Australia’s economic and cultural ties with the South East Asian Region.
“A re-elected Labor Government will build on this further by providing funds to Majoran Distillery to support it to run industry-led skills training programs and build connections between South Australia’s startup community and those around the nation.”
On Friday, State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall made an announcement at Majoran Distillery with a commitment to make Adelaide the startup capital of Australia and establish a $500,000 fund over to establish Adelaide StartUp Week.
“Premier Weatherill has been caught out again plucking strategy from the Mike Rann playbook – fail to address a problem for a decade then adopt the State Liberals’ solution and claim victory,” said Liberal spokesman Rob Lucas.
“The Labor Government under Mike Rann criticised and then stole Liberal initiatives such as the CBD stadium, enlivening the River Torrens, the desalination plant and an ICAC.
“Mr Weatherill has once again demonstrated that he is no different to Mike Rann.
“It is really quite embarrassing for Mr Weatherill and Labor that they cannot come up with their own ideas after 12 years in government.
“Mr Weatherill is leading a tired Government that has run out of ideas and after 12 years of Labor it is time for a change.”
