The Labor Party will continue to treat the Upper House of State Parliament as its payback parlor if it appoints Peter Malinauskas to the casual vacancy created as a result of Bernard Finnigan’s criminal behavior.
“Replacing Bernard Finnigan with Peter Malinauskas will see one former union hack taking the place of another in a Government run by union hacks,” said Shadow Treasurer Rob Lucas.
“Peter Malinauskas will be replacing Bernard Finnigan in the Upper House because he delivered Jay Weatherill the numbers to roll Mike Rann.
“Of course both Mr Malinauskas and Mr Finnigan shared a common background in Labor’s dominant right wing union– the SDA.
“It also seems clear that Mr Malinauskas is going to replace another union hack in the Ministry – the underperforming and widely-criticised Gail Gago.
“Another example where one union hack simply replaces another!
“Given the massive economic problems facing South Australia maybe the Labor Party should be considering an MP with a background in running a small or medium sized business rather than yet another union boss.”
