In an extraordinary revelation, one of Premier Weatherill’s own Labor colleagues has labeled him a “dead man walking” who will be removed after the March State Election.
This latest extraordinary revelation comes one day after senior Labor Right-aligned MPs and figures declared Premier Weatherill “would pay” for creating a “f**king disaster” by threatening to resign last week.
The dysfunctional Weatherill Labor Government’s crisis of division, disunity and dysfunction has now reached eight consecutive days.
The Australian has today reported one Labor Right MP saying that Mr Weatherill is a “dead man walking” and reveals that the powerful Labor Right faction is “assembling the arsenal, and it is just a matter of timing.”
“These statements make it clear that whatever happens at the upcoming election, Mr Weatherill will not survive as leader because Labor’s Right faction will remove Mr Weatherill and impose their choice as leader,” said Liberal spokesman Rob Lucas.
“What this means to South Australians is that they don’t know who will lead the Labor Party after the March State Election – it’s a mystery when the state needs certainty.
“But one thing’s for sure – Mr Weatherill will definitely not be Labor Leader after the March State Election.
“South Australians can vote for Steven Marshall and his united State Liberal team or an unnamed factional puppet of the powerful Right faction of this deeply divided Labor Party.
“But as our State faces a catastrophic jobs crisis, Mr Weatherill and Labor are more concerned about having a factional fight for their own jobs.
“Labor sources, including MPs, Ministers and staffers, continue to leak against and undermine the now seriously besieged Mr Weatherill,” said Mr Lucas.
It was reported only yesterday that Minister Koutsantonis had ordered Right-aligned Labor MPs to maintain discipline until the March State Election in 36 days’ time.
However, one senior Labor Right-aligned MP broke ranks, ignored factional powerbroker Mr Koutsantonis’ instructions and leaked to the media.
In fact, senior Labor Right-aligned MPs and figures have revealed recently:
• “[Weatherill] created a f***ing disaster …”
• “Jay has had a tantrum … it’s a bit f***ing rich … He has exposed a huge rift in the party … This is going to do a lot of damage to the party for a very long time.”
• “[The Labor Right] will lock in between now and the election … so we’ll give the appearance of just moving on – until March 15. Then [Weatherill] will pay.”
