Education Minister Jane Lomax-Smith had revealed why she needs to go back to school on the issue of schools across Adelaide.
“Ms Lomax-Smith on radio this morning revealed she had no idea where Adelaide High School’s zone extended to,” Liberal MLC Rob Lucas said today.
Lomax-Smith: “…I think Glengowrie is actually in the zone isn’t it, for Adelaide High?
David Bevan: “Glengowrie? No, Glengowrie is close to Bright…Glengowrie is nowhere near Adelaide High… Glengowrie, being in the zone for Brighton High.
Lomax-Smith: “It’s Brighton High, is it?

“In fact, Ms Lomax-Smith actually thought Glengowrie – 11kms from the CBD – was in the Adelaide High School zone,” he said.
“Not only that, Ms Lomax-Smith as Education Minister had to rely on the zoning advice of ABC radio host David Bevan.
“A basic search of the Adelaide High School website actually reveals its zoning boundaries – and it certainly doesn’t include the beachside suburb of Glengowrie.
“Glengowrie, near Glenelg, has a number of neighbouring high schools, including Hamilton Secondary College and Brighton Secondary School.
“Obviously Ms Lomax-Smith needs to go back to school for the basics of education.”
