If Premier Weatherill wants to be believed on his claim of increased transparency he will immediately release details of his 2011 expenses, which have been delayed under Freedom of Information for almost two years.
“Whilst the release yesterday of ministerial expenses is welcomed by the State Liberals, these expenses are limited to those incurred since July 2013,” said Shadow Health Minister Rob Lucas.
“The Liberal Party lodged an FOI application on 23 December 2011 for all of Mr Weatherill’s credit card expenses for 2011. Similarly, on 27 December 2012 an FOI application was lodged for all of Mr Weatherill’s 2012 entertainment, travel and meal expenses.
“However, almost two years later, both of these FOI applications have not been answered.
“The longer the Weatherill Labor Government refuses to provide these details, the more likely it is the public will become suspicious that the Weatherill Labor Government has something to hide.
“Mr Weatherill should now ensure all outstanding FOIs for him and his staff’s spending in 2011 and 2012 are released.”
