Premier Weatherill has addressed the National Press Club calling for greater co-operation with the Federal Government at the same time his Ministers continue to attack the Federal Government and his Government is spending millions of dollars on advertising attacking the Federal Government.
The Weatherill Labor Government has spent millions of dollars on pensioner concession ads, Federal Budget ads and the More than Cars campaign, all attacking the Federal Government.
Weatherill Labor Government Ministers also attack the Federal Government on a daily basis, most recently Minister Mullighan on Monday, who said:
“…the state is having to go it alone with public transport projects…” (ABC, 06/07/15)
“Jay Weatherill has today said one thing in Canberra, while his Government is doing the opposite here in South Australia,” said Shadow Treasurer Rob Lucas.
“Liberal Leader Steven Marshall has been saying for some time that it is in SA’s interests for our State Government to be able to work with the Federal Government
.
“It appears that finally Mr Weatherill is supporting that position.
“Time will tell as to whether today was a genuine indication of change of policy or just an empty promise whilst briefly before the national media.
“If Premier Weatherill is serious about greater co-operation between the State and Federal Government then he must stop the attack ads and the daily attacks on the Federal Government and start working in a genuine, bipartisan manner.”
