Premier Weatherill’s dirty tricks campaign has now been embarrassingly exposed as a Labor candidate was forced to admit Labor political apparatchiks were forging her signature while pretending she had been door-knocking.
Katrine Hildyard, who is one of Mr Weatherill’s Left faction candidates and allies, was yesterday forced to apologise for her involvement in ‘forgerygate.’
However, Ms Hildyard’s story is now further unravelling.
Yesterday, Ms Hildyard said one of the following three signatures was hers and the other two were forged:
The State Liberals have also been provided with a copy of a letter supposedly signed by Ms Hildyard which has a signature bearing no resemblance to any of the above three signatures:
If Ms Hildyard’s story is to be believed then clearly some other Labor political apparatchik must be forging her signature on all letters to electors.
The only other explanation could be that Ms Hildyard did not tell the truth yesterday about some of the signatures on the calling cards.
“Only Ms Hildyard can answer these questions and Mr Weatherill must force her to answer them today,” said Mr Lucas.
“The voters in Reynell demand honesty and integrity from their candidates and “forgerygate” will appall all of them.
“This is yet another example of Jay Weatherill and Labor’s dirty tricks campaign.
“Labor’s dodgy how-to-vote card tactics from the 2010 election will be fresh in the minds of South Australians.”
