Shadow Finance Minister Rob Lucas said today Treasurer Kevin Foley had ‘stuffed up’ his Adelaide Oval costings in a radio interview this morning.
Mr Foley this morning admitted that his costings for the Adelaide Oval redevelopment were just a ‘ballpark estimate of $500 million’.
He was then corrected by the interviewers who reminded him he had previously costed the redevelopment at $450 million.
In the confusing and embarrassing interview Mr Foley stumbled between using $450 million and $500 million before finally settling on $450 million.
“Mr Foley has been attacking the Liberal Party all week about supposedly using ‘ballpark estimates’ for the RAH,” Mr Lucas said.
“Yet he has now admitted himself his own estimates of the Adelaide Oval redevelopment are ‘ballpark’ figures.
“The hypocrisy of Mr Rann and Mr Foley on the costing issue is now apparent for all to see.
“Put simply Mr Rann and Mr Foley cannot be trusted on the issue of costings.”
