The Weatherill Labor Government is so embarrassed about its failure to control ramping at Flinders Medical Centre it is attempting to restrict media coverage.
The Ambulance Employees’ Association has revealed that security has erected barriers to prevent media photographing or filming the ramped ambulances.
Shadow Health Minister Rob Lucas said today’s events were further evidence the health system on Premier Weatherill’s watch was out of control.
“Ramping has occurred over the past few days at Flinders Medical Centre, and it is particularly concerning the AEA reported an ambulance waited for more than an hour on the ramp.
“The situation reached crisis levels this afternoon with no room at all left on the ramp.
“Contrary to previous assurances from the Weatherill Labor Government, ramping continues to be a serious problem at the Flinders Medical Centre.
“The Monaghan Review was completed almost 12 months ago and yet we are still waiting for all of its recommendations to be implemented.
“South Australians deserve a Government with better priorities to get our state back on track.”
