Attorney-General Michael Atkinson today refused to support statements made by Premier Rann on the issue of road safety and hoon driving.
“When Mr Atkinson was asked on morning radio whether he, like Mr Rann, had more confidence in Police Commissioner Mal Hyde than some Magistrates, he delivered a vote of no confidence to the Premier.”

Michael Atkinson: Look, I’m just not going to comment on that.
“This is yet another example of a Rann Labor campaign bungle which will be a huge embarrassment for Mr Rann,” Liberal MLC Rob Lucas said today.
“Mr Atkinson, who hasn’t been allowed to raise his head during the election campaign for 15 days, today showed why Mr Rann has tossed him into Labor’s campaign abyss.
“The reality is, if Mr Atkinson doesn’t support Mr Rann, how can South Australians support him?”
